Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2012 Sancerre Generation Dix-Neuf has a dark crimson color and initially shows an open bouquet of slightly oxidized and dried fruits (plums) as well as aromas of frozen cherries, raw meat, dried Mediterranean herbs, licorice and liver. This might sound (and really is!) somewhat strange, but the wine develops with aeration and becomes more and more precise and subtle without giving up its odd aroma composition. (I tasted it again from the same bottle three weeks later, which is also strange, but in this case instructive: the wine is still in form and not oxidized, at most even more precise, aromatic and refined on the nose as on the impressively juicy and well-balanced, silky palate.) Silky and elegantly textured, this full-bodied, fruit-intense and sweetish/generous wine develops power, finesse and length with a promising freshness, intensity and firm structure. Nice bitterness in the aftertaste.
