Dourthe has leased Château Belgrave since 1979. A preliminary phase consisted of returning to this prestigious classified growth its style and status and creating a wine worthy of its name. Now that Dourthe has confirmed its commitment in 2000 for another 25 years, it is entering a second stage, involving significant investment and with the ambitious aim of making Château Belgrave a benchmark for the region, expressing more conclusively the exceptional potential of its terroir.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
I tasted the 2010 Belgrave several times and found it less impressive than I had hoped it would be, since I wrote it was a sleeper of the vintage from barrel. Nevertheless, the wine is still excellent. Dark ruby purple, slightly austere and closed, but exhibiting some tobacco leaf, black currant, vanillin, spice and earth, it should drink nicely for 15 or more years.
