The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Fonte alla Selva does not seem a step removed from any normal Chianti Classico. I'm not sure why it merits Gran Selezione status, especially in a vintage like 2015 that is blessed with more overachievers than any run-of-the-mill vintage. The bar is set very high in 2015, and this wine is way too simple and easy when compared to its peers. The fruit tastes overcropped and watery. It tastes like a basic Chianti Classico at best, not a Riserva and certainly not a Gran Selezione.
